Frequently Asked Questions

  1. May I register at any time?

You may join an ongoing course at any time. We do, however, recommend making an appointment with one of our placement staff. There you will find out which course suits you best. New courses always commence at the beginning of the month. It is advisable to register as early as possible.
Please subscribe at least 10 days before the beginning.

  2. How and when do I pay?

On commencing the course, you pay the monthly fees for the first two months. Thereafter, monthly payments have to be made in advance at the beginning of each month.

  3. How big are the classes?

Our Global Courses have between 16 and 18 participants.

  4. When and where may I register?

Please take a waiting number in the entry area of the school office. You will be given advise as soon as possible. If you already passed the grading test of the "Zentrale Einstufung", Please go directly to Counter 6 in the Registration Office.

  5. Is it possible to have the fees reimbursed by the Arbeitsamt (German Federal Employment Exchange)?

If your course is part of a training measure aimed at re-integration into the labour market, it is possible for participants in receipt of unemployment benefit, unemployment assistance, subsistence allowance or integration assistance to have their course fees reimbursed by the Arbeitsamt. DaF courses lasting 20 hours per wekk constitute such a training measure. You can pick up one of these special forms at Counter 6, which you then fill out and hand in to your case worker at the Arbeitsamt. Generally, training measures are financed for a duration of 12 weeks. For emigrants, people entitled to asylum as well as refugees we offer special "integration courses"
  6. How can I prepare for the DSH examination or the Studienkolleg qualifying examination?

We offer special tests three months before the DSH-examinations and two months before the Studienkolleg qualifying examinations. Before the start of the DSH courses there takes place an orientation day in the Hartnackschule. All university preparation courses must be paid completely before start of the course. The number of participants is limited. Please register in time for our successful university courses.
