Registration
Our School Office, on the 1st floor of the main building in Motzstraße 5, is open Monday to Friday
from 8:00am to 7:00pm and Saturday from 9:00am to 12:00pm.
At any time during office hours, you may register for a language course at one of our six counters.
Those interested in registering for English or Spanish courses can use the express Counter No.6,
those interested in taking German courses must pull a number at the machine in the adjacent room and
wait until that number has been called before going to the designated counter. New courses at all
levels commence at the beginning of a month; it is possible, however, to join a course during the
month. In the case of the DaF (German as a Foreign Language) courses, we accept enrolments on the
1st, 11th and 21st of a month.
In order to find the correct course for you (should you already have previous knowledge of the
language), we offer a Central Placement Test. For those interested in taking German courses, this
test - known in German as the Zentraler Einstufungstest - takes place daily between 12:30pm and
13:30pm. For those interested in taking English courses, the test is administered on Monday
(3:00pm), Wednesday and Thursday (4:00pm). Spanish placement tests take place from Monday to Friday
between 5:00pm and 5:30pm.

to book and organize the course you have chosen. The course fee for the current and the subsequent
month must be paid upon registration, either in cash or by cheque; there is no registration fee.
Further monthly payments are due, in advance, on the 3rd of each month. These payments may also made
by bank transfer.
It is of course also possible to enrol by post or by e-mail.
The class size in our DaF courses is limited to 20 students, and in foreign language courses to
between 6 and 12 students.
In particular cases, it is possible to have the fees for a language course reimbursed by the
Arbeitsamt (Federal Employment Exchange), as part of a training measure aimed at reintegration into
the labour market. This applies to all courses consisting of more than 20 class units per week.
Information on special courses (e.g. educational leave, express courses, workshops, prep courses for
the language entrance exam at German universities, summer courses etc.) can be found on our web site
(see Courses).
The office staff are also always on hand to offer advice, either personally or on the telephone.
